Welcome to February! It will be a short but fun month. We’ll be talking about Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, the American Flag and start learning the Pledge of Allegiance. We’ll look at the letters R, S, T and U. We’ll also talk about numbers 11, 12 and 13. We will also be talking about the importance of Dental care. We continue to work on fine motor skills. Cutting with scissors is a skill needed for Kindergarten!
Our Bible words are “You are my friends”, John 15:14.
Some things to remember for February:
-We will be having a dental presentation on February 3rd and 4th.
-We will be collecting dental supplies during the month of February and will be donating them to a local shelter. Toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss are items that we are looking for.
-Book orders are due February 11th. You may order books at https://clubs.scholastic.com Our class code is FZNG9
-February 11th will be open registration for the 2020-2021 school year. Registration has been ongoing for our currently enrolled students, church members and alumni. Forms and details are available on the Preschool website http://sovidpreschool.weebly.com
-February 13th and 14th are our Valentine’s parties. Please come the last half hour of class for bingo, songs and reading our Valentines. Please feel free to send treats for treat bags. Please remember that we strive to be a nut free school. There will be No Share on Thursday.
-Your child may bring Valentine’s cards. Signing the cards is great writing practice. Have them sign just a few at a time so they don’t become overwhelmed. Please have your child bring their cards at the beginning of school on the day of their party. Please remember that Valentine’s cards are much easier to pass out if they are not addressed individually.
-February 17th is President’s Day. There is no school that day for our MWF classes.
-Chapel will be held February 19th and 20th at 9:30 and 1:00. Please feel free to join us.
-Please reread our illness policy in our handbook in the section marked Health & Safety. These policies are in place to keep everyone safe.
-Please send your child with appropriate outerwear. We would love to get outside on dry days. And keep working at home on those skills of putting on coats and zipping. We’ve seen a lot more confidence in those skills.
-Evaluations will be going home in February. If you would like to discuss your child’s evaluation please feel free to contact me.
-If we happen to have school closure due to snow, mass emails will be sent out and information will be on KTVB (7) AND KIVI (6)
